The Fish Gate

The word Fish Gate was mentioned in Nehemiah, and few other verses in the Bible.

Nehemiah 3:3 says:
And the Fish Gate the sons of Hassenaah built; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.

Historically, the Fish Gate was a place of trades for the fishermen of Galilee; they often gathered there. They bring their fishes through the gate, to be sold.

Literally, the Fish Gate is a platform, an entry, or an access used to reach out to many.

Simply put, the Fish Gate is a gate of the fishes (the fishes scripturally means the lost souls, the unsaved, the gentiles). Remember the word of Jesus, “Come unto me, and I will make you fishers of men”. A fisher literally catches fishes, and here is Jesus saying he will make you fishers of men (fishes).

Furthermore, The Fish Gate represent the importance of reaching in evangelism. It represent our witness, the church reaching out to the world.
